Gas and Energy
The major in Latin America
Porto do Açu will house the largest natural gas-fired thermoelectric park in Latin America, connecting us to the national gas grid. Built by GNA, our joint venture with bp, Siemens and SPIC Brasil, the park uses state-of-the-art technology developed by Siemens, providing greater efficiency and lower emissions of greenhouse gases.
It is a state-of-the-art solution, with 100% use of desalinated sea water and guaranteed energy safety: in addition to being the only private LNG terminal in the Southeast region, with a capacity of 28 MMm³/day, it will be responsible for 17% of Brazil’s natural gas-fired power generation.
TPP GNA I: 1.3 GW generation starting in 2021 with 5.5 thousand jobs created at the peak of construction works
LNG terminal to service thermal power plants with a capacity of 28 MM m³/day
TPP GNA II: 1.7 GW of installed capacity
3 GW in long-term power purchase agreements already signed and an additional 3.4 GW in licensed expansion
NGPU project with a processing capacity of 40 MM m³/day
GASINF: project for the construction of a 101.2 km gas pipeline connecting Açu to Cabiúnas
